HANDMADE CANDLES UK

You can find sooooooooo many candles on the market. Most of them are produced in factories, but if you’d like a candle which is unique, you shall look for hand made candles. There are many places where you can get them, but you will probably notice that hand made also equals 100 the same ones, which is sort of small hand made factory. There is nothing wrong with it, but to get an UNIQUE candle you need a place where candles are made in small batches-ideally one at the time, and these are very precious. (check out our place.. ). To make candle you need: wax (due to our veganism, which we want to infect everyone with, we produce our candles from vegan waxes), a pot- in which we will melt the wax, a wick and, a mold-which makes our candle to the specific shape. You can re-use plastic pots, jars, and other containers to give them second life:) (reduce, reuse, recycle.. )

Let’s go! Melt your wax in a water bath, heat is necessary to turn wax from solid to liquid phase, if you want your candle to smell-you should add essential oil of your choice. It needs to be done while the wax is melted. Would you like candle in a specific colour? Nothing easier, choose your dye and add it alongside your essential oil. If you would like your candle to work for you and help you improve mood or match to the interiors have a look at our blog article about aromatherapy and colours. To make candle of desired shape use molds or specifically shaped container. Melted wax carefully pour it into the previously prepared dish, when reusing plastic container, choose that one which is easy to cut, to release your candle when it’s ready or elastic enough to remove it without damaging it.

When wax is melted and tour wax is in the container insert proper wick. Make sure it is not drown, use special wick holder, these are made of metal, if you don’t have one use washing peg. When our candle is in the target container, you can add decorations, and here only our creativity is your limit. Our candles are unique and decorated with flowers-from our own garden. We are aiming for re-using containers, after selectin shape we re-use it multiple times. It is easy to make candles with jars, bottles, pots. Fragrance/essential oils which we are using are bought in a local stores, sometimes it is a chain store, but always local, and only that one-which promotes natural products, we will not use the name, so as not to advertise;)

When the wax is completely solid(be careful sometimes your candle looks solid, but inside is still soft/liquid. It is the best to leave the candles to settle for 24 hours :) so they cool down nicely. Once wax is solid-your candle is READY! Finally, a few interesting facts: optimal melting point for wax is temperature between 45 to 60 degrees Celsius, fragrance oils can change the time of melting..
